We’re thrilled to announce that a new monthly model-making initiative is launching at The Rifleman’s Museum to support the wellbeing of former and current members of the armed forces and emergency services. Join a relaxed, social gathering where you can build and paint scale models of military vehicles, soldiers, and much more. The first session will take place on Monday 19th May 2025, with sessions continuing on the third Monday of every month thereafter.
Organised in partnership with Models for Heroes, the UK’s leading provider of model making for veterans’ mental health, these sessions are free of charge and open to all serving and retired personnel from the military, police, fire, ambulance, and related emergency services.
The sessions aim to provide a welcoming and social environment where people can explore the creative and therapeutic benefits of scale model making. They are designed to foster connection, reduce isolation, and support mental wellbeing through hands-on activity and informal peer support.
All tools, kits, and materials will be provided along with refreshments, and no prior experience is necessary. Veterans and serving personnel from all regiments are welcome, so why not drop in on Monday 19th May and take part?
